Periodic Table

This app provides an interactive periodic table detailing all the elements and their properties. The app is only usable in portrait mode and you drag the table around in order to find your desired element. The table is colour-coded by the types of element (Alkali metals, Transition metals, Noble gases) and these are labeled in a legend and this helps make navigating the table easier for newer students who are yet to gain a familiarity with the periodic table.

The app is pretty similar to the previous two periodic table apps we have reviewed (Periodic Table 2020 and the RSC one) with all the important information provided for every element. The app runs well with fast loading times but on the information screen there is no back button so I am forced to use my phones own back button which is a little annoying. The colour scheme is also pretty bland with a cream background with brown for the menu buttons. The colours for the element are very soft and this along with how the dropdown menu works makes it feel quite dated. I feel like this app belongs to the time of the iPhone 3GS.

Overall the app does its job well but the aesthetic and accessibility are major drawbacks compared to other periodic table apps.
