Periodic Table – Royal Society of Chemistry
This app provides an interactive periodic table that is able to used in portrait mode on phone and on tablet. It provides a colorful look at the entire periodic table. The app gives all the basic information about such as basic chemical properties like melting and boiling point. It also gives more advanced information like the electrochemical configuration.
It proves different drop-down menus in order to obtain more detailed information such as bond enthalpies and oxidation states. The information provided within the app could be used for students studying for their school qualifications or for more advanced students working towards obtaining a chemistry degree.
Overall the app feels a little clunky and does not run quite as smooth as the previous periodic table app (Periodic table – 2020). This may be due to the fact that app is locked in landscape mode so does not provide the fluidity as seen before. This may also be due to the fact that of the slightly longer boot time and having to click twice on an element in order to look at it’s information.
The app provides all the basic information but the accessibility is not quite at the level of the apps studied previously and there is still room for improvement
